Cleveland hurler Roger Scherf put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Cincinnati Packers with a 3-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 3 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks to pick up the win.

"I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch told reporters after the game.

Up to now Scherf has compiled an ERA of 3.51 with a 13-11 mark over 30 starts. He has 137 strikeouts in 220.2 innings and has held opponents to a .260 batting average.
