Knickerbockers Top Industrials, 3-2
|
The New York Knickerbockers clipped the Pittsburgh Industrials, 3-2, in 10 innings at Knickerbocker Stadium. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, native Chris Hull. New York reliever Ollie Hundley picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. John Fagan took the loss. The win lifted the New York record to 83-70.
The Knickerbockers got a clutch hit from right fielder Bobby Vollbrecht. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Knickerbockers.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said New York field general Timothy Widholm.
