Monument Field was host to some action-packed drama.

The Washington Eagles had to overcome a good performance from Milwaukee pitcher Keith Williams to claim a 3-2 win at Monument Field. Williams went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Billy Reed picked up the win. His record improves to 7-3. Arnie Keilman took the loss.

Ed Cook was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Eagles pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Cook.

Washington is now 73-81, while Milwaukee is 85-69.
