Fine Effort by Yoshimura Not Enough in 13-6 Wranglers Loss
The Twin Cities Northmen withstood a fine game by Dallas center fielder Chikashi Yoshimura at Bluff Park, to upend the Wranglers, 13-6. Yoshimura went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. Paul Whitaker picked up the win, lifting his record to 10-9 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 4 in 6.2 innings, while yielding 5 runs. By defeating Dallas, the 6th-place Northmen improved to 67-86.

In the top of the fifth, Twin Cities second baseman Steve Pavey had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Pavey stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 4-1, Twin Cities. For the game, he was 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
