The fans at Wolverine Field witnessed quite a game.

Detroit first baseman Troy Stallings picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the New York Empires, 7-6. Detroit leads the American Baseball League Eastern Division by 2½ games.

The game came to a sudden end. In the bottom of the ninth, with two out, Stallings reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs. It gave Detroit the 7-6 walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Stallings said.
