Quakers Find a Way to Win
The Philadelphia Quakers grabbed a win, 7-6, over the Milwaukee Dairymen in 10 innings at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Philadelphia left fielder Larry Allen was 2-5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Philadelphia winning streak has reached 3 games.

Allen had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from John Williams, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Quakers a 7-6 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Allen.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
