Blockbusters Get 6-5 Win Versus Denver
The Los Angeles Blockbusters relied on the hitting of shortstop Mike Herron to stop the Denver Burros, 6-5. For the game, Herron went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. Los Angeles reliever Mark Evert picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. George Drumm took the loss. With the win, Los Angeles has a record of 80-74. Denver falls to 81-73.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Bruce Tonner was at the plate when Los Angeles scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blockbusters to go in front, 6-5.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
