Explorers Win Squeaker, 3-2, Over Blockbusters
Starting pitcher Randy Birch was a major factor in the 3-2 St. Louis Explorers triumph over the Los Angeles Blockbusters. St. Louis has run its win streak to 9 consecutive.

Bernie Tudor drove in one run for St. Louis. The 28-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Wayne Guilmette. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

"Randy gave us everything he had," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
