Eagles Win, 4-1, Versus Brooklyn
|
Brooklyn wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Dick Conway, falling to the Washington Eagles, 4-1. Conway threw 7.1 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. Washington pitcher David Rodriquez got the win. He's now 1-4. Bob Hill was tagged with the loss. Washington goes to 50-104, Brooklyn to 76-78.
Washington took a 4-1 lead on Bruce Brosnahan's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Brosnahan hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Brooklyn pitcher Bob Hill visibly frustrated.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Eagles manager Brandon Tucker, "I like our chances."
