The Denver Burros beat the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 6-1, at Blockbuster Stadium. Starting pitcher Bart Dunsley was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Dunsley went the distance for Denver. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. Denver occupies third place in the National Baseball League Western Division at 82-73.

Denver used a well-timed hit by Bob Messinger to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Burros ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Messinger said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
