Seagulls Drop Northmen, 4-3
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the San Francisco Seagulls and Twin Cities Northmen.
The San Francisco Seagulls knocked off the Twin Cities Northmen, 4-3, in American Baseball League action at Twin Cities Stadium. San Francisco pitcher and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, native Reggie Wright had an outstanding performance. Wright picked up the win for San Francisco, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Chuck Porter wrapped it up, recording his 5th save.
With San Francisco leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Wright hit a run-scoring single off Twin Cities hurler Jeff Jordan. It was the 1st hit of the season for Wright and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"That was a really good outing by Reggie," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
The Northmen, 5-11, continue their poor start to the 1970 campaign.
