Traders Slap 4-3 Loss on Industrials
Chicago picked up a win at Allegheny Field, bumping off the Pittsburgh Industrials, 4-3. Pitcher Larry Cox was a major reason the Traders emerged victorious. Jimmy Calhoun, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-10. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1 innings. Randy Weisenberg got the save, his 41st in 46 chances.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Doug Fickes to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Traders on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Fickes.

The win for the Traders raised their record to 83-72.
