The Twin Cities Northmen converted a terrific effort from starter Curt Kirkley into a win over the Baltimore Lords at Twin Cities Stadium. The Northmen won the game by a final score of 4-2. The win makes Twin Cities 75-80.
Steve Garcia had a big solo home run for the Northmen in the bottom of the third inning. With Twin Cities leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Gilberto Rivera and punished it. The result was his 36th home run of the season, which put the Northmen on top, 2-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Garcia, "and then get after it again."
