Bill Davis, who finished 3rd in the ABL in innings pitched with 255.2 last year, had a strong outing for the Atlanta Generals against the New York Empires at Atlantic Station Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Davis, who leads the ABL in complete games with 12, went the distance for Atlanta. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. The Empires, at 85-71, have lost 5 straight games.

In the bottom of the sixth, Ron Bullins delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Atlanta catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Generals in front, 5-3.

"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
