Bulls Pull Out Late Win, 6-5
|
The Kansas City-Milwaukee game took longer to complete because of the rain. But it was worth it for the home team in the end.
The Kansas City Bulls had to overcome a fine effort from Milwaukee pitcher Andy Campbell to win, 6-5, at Independence Field. Campbell went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Lewis Smith, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0.
Hal Lahr was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bulls center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This joint was rocking," said Lahr.
The 6th-place Bulls have won 4 in a row.
