Barnes Mashes 2 Homers in 7-5 San Diego Win
|
The San Diego Captains defeated the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 7-5. Doing his part was left fielder Randy Barnes, who went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Rick Wisniewski notched his 2nd save in 3 chances. The win puts San Diego at 94-62 this season.
Barnes had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Jerry Wilson, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Captains a 6-5 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Barnes.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Barnes.
