8 Straight Wins for Seagulls
|
In a low-scoring contest between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Los Angeles Pobladores, Pete Ragsdale was the X factor. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Ragsdale yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-1. Dan Wood earned the save for San Francisco, his 4th.
San Francisco second baseman Chuck Shaffer helped the Seagulls go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Shaffer hit a run-scoring single off Los Angeles pitcher Phil Lester.
"Pete giving us the start that he did was huge," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
The Pobladores fall to 6-10.
