Knickerbockers Absorb 5-2 Home Loss
|
Brooklyn turned a good effort from starter Jorge Sandoval into a win over the New York Knickerbockers at Knickerbocker Stadium. The Bluebirds won the game, 5-2. The win puts Brooklyn at 63-93.
Brooklyn center fielder Dave Fogarty contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 109th hit of the season and put the Bluebirds ahead, 3-1.
"I was determined to go the distance," said Sandoval.
