Packers 8-3 Winners Over New York
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Knickerbockers and Cincinnati Packers get after it.
The Cincinnati Packers beat the New York Knickerbockers, 8-3, at Roman Arena. The win was due in part to right fielder Jerry Anderson, who went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The defeat makes New York 82-74.
With Cincinnati leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Anderson hit a 2-run single off New York hurler Ray Schifsky. It was the 104th hit of the season for Anderson and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"I really like what we did out there today," Anderson said after the game.
