Bobcats Earn 8-2 Win Against Traders
|
The Cleveland Bobcats defeated the Chicago Traders, 8-2, in 13 innings. Tom Crowell led the way, going 3-for-6 for Cleveland. The win went to Steve Eaton in relief. His record improves to 4-3. William Matz took the loss. The triumph puts Cleveland at 80-77 for the season.
Cleveland used a timely hit from Benito Olivas to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Chicago manager Larry Link said his team was "out of sync."
