The Twin Cities Northmen overcame a pretty good performance by Los Angeles left fielder Greg Leggett, beating the Pobladores, 8-7, at Twin Cities Stadium. Leggett went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Fred Anthony, the winner, is now 4-3. He struck out 7 and walked 5 over 8.1 innings, while allowing 6 runs on 8 hits. Twin Cities has now won 3 straight, while the Pobladores have lost 3 in a row.

Irv Olson, who led the ABL in hits with 215 in 1958, came through for Twin Cities with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The first baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 3 RBI.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Olson told the Twin Cities Observer.
