The Chicago Traders picked up a win at Union Field, dropping the San Diego Captains, 4-3. Jose Mojica was the difference-maker. In 7 innings, Mojica surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. Picking up his 5th save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jimmy Calhoun.
Fran Precourt, who is tied for 4th in the NBL in triples with 2, helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said San Diego manager Joe Mack, "let me know."
The win leaves Chicago with a record of 8-8.
