Wranglers Rally to Nose Past Houston
The Dallas Wranglers, despite a fine performance by Houston pitcher Larry Bilski, grabbed a 2-1 win at Bluff Park. Bilski allowed 1 run over 7 innings. Dallas reliever Frank Dunn picked up the win to move to 11-10. Tom McAteer suffered the loss. The win elevated the Wranglers to 94-64.

Dallas took a 2-1 lead on Dick Howard's 17th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Howard hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Tom McAteer visibly frustrated.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Houston manager Tom Harrington.
