Northmen Earn 4-3 Win Versus Wranglers
|
Fans who congregated at Twin Cities Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Twin Cities Northmen did just enough to sneak past the Dallas Wranglers, 4-3, at Twin Cities Stadium. Twin Cities pitcher Charlie Sokol, in particular, had a standout performance. Willie Purter came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-3.
The Northmen procured the win, in large part because of second baseman Danilo Basilio. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.
"What a buzz," said Basilio after it was over.
The 5th-place Northmen lifted their record to 66-92.
