Terriers Win Nail-Biter
|
The Boston Terriers earned a close win over the New York Empires, thanks in part to Larry Haines. The Boston right-hander played a key role in the 12-inning, 3-2 victory. Boston reliever Mack Sutter got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Dave Kretz was tagged with the loss. Boston goes to 7-9.
Dick Breighner had a direct impact on the outcome. Breighner contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Boston up, 3-2.
