Baltimore starter John Gannon kept the Boston offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his sinker in leading the Lords to a 4-0 win. The Terriers fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 1977 season.

Gannon allowed no runs over 8.1 innings. He also racked up 7 strikeouts.

"John really held it together well," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
