Emeralds Prevail, 5-3, Over Houston
|
Getting a good performance from center fielder Ron Roseboro, the Seattle Emeralds defeated the Houston Drillers, 5-3. Roseboro went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Emeralds. Jose Rodriguez got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings. Phil Moore picked up the save, his 1st.
Mike Weatherby helped out the Seattle cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop was 3-4 with 3 singles.
"We did enough to win," said Roseboro.
Seattle is 76-83 and Houston, with the loss, 82-77.
