Denver Burros starter Doug Keene pitched well against the Kansas City Bulls at Independence Field, leading his team to a win, 5-3. Denver is now 80-80, while Kansas City is 81-79.

Denver took a 5-3 lead on Chuck Carr's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Carr hit in the top of the tenth, left Kansas City pitcher Tom Mitchell visibly frustrated.

"We take it day by day here," said Carr, "and today was a good one for us."
