St. Louis Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
1970 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the St. Louis Explorers.
Kansas City second baseman John Villalobos played a vital role in his team's 5-0 conquest of St. Louis. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Kansas City. Jorge Corona was credited with the save, his 7th in 9 tries.
Early in the game, Villalobos had a 2-run home run for Kansas City. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Bulls on top, 2-0.
Said losing manager Ray Fleetwood: "Give the Bulls credit. They played a better game than we did."
The win puts Kansas City at 55-105.
