The Milwaukee Dairymen picked up a win at San Diego Sporting Complex, dropping the San Diego Captains, 4-2. Dan Valenti, who is tied for 7th in the NBL with a 5.4 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. The winning pitcher was Valenti, now 11-17. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. John Williams, credited with the save, is now 3 for 6 in save opportunities.
Tyree Davis had a direct impact on the outcome. Davis contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-2.
"Dan made some big pitches when he needed to," said Dairymen manager Brandon Dudley.
The Dairymen raised their record to 57-103.
