San Francisco third baseman Al Medley was sensational. He was 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Los Angeles beat the Seagulls, 6-5. Phil Lester was the winner. He's now 12-17. The loser was 36-year old right-handed pitcher Pete Ragsdale. The Pobladores, at 82-78, sit in third place in the American Baseball League Western Division.

John Fine had a big run-scoring double for the Pobladores in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Los Angeles leading 5-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Randy Shipley and swatted a double to center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pobladores ahead, 6-2.

"Good, gritty kind of win," said Pobladores manager Alex Wobbema.
