Lords Win, 6-2, Versus Houston
|
Starting pitcher Larry Diego fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Baltimore Lords stymie the Houston Drillers, 6-2. The Lords now have a record of 86-74 with the win over Houston.
Baltimore used the hitting of Woodie Scheideler to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lords on top, 3-2. For the game, Scheideler had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Larry's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Steve Read, the Lords manager.
