3-1 Win for Twin Cities Over Atlanta
|
The Twin Cities Northmen knocked off the Atlanta Generals, 3-1, in American Baseball League action at Twin Cities Stadium. Twin Cities pitcher and Terrace, Canada, native Edgar Trask had an outstanding performance. In 7 innings, Trask surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Rick Lindstrom collected his 3rd save.
Pete Walker, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1971 draft, chipped in a 2-run home run for Twin Cities in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I thought Edgar threw the ball well across the board," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
The Northmen now own a record of 72-88.
