Wolverines Sunk by Habitants
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Habitants fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Montreal Habitants starter Rich Barron turned in a top-notch performance against the Detroit Wolverines at LaSalle Stadium. The result was a win for the Habitants, 5-2. With the victory, the Habitants upped their record to 87-73.
Montreal left fielder Jim Compton contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 102nd hit of the season and put the Habitants ahead, 4-2.
"I'll be honest," said Barron. "I didn't have much left in the tank."
