Terriers 6-2 Winners Versus New York
|
Starting pitcher Tim Jepperson was a major factor in the 6-2 Boston Terriers triumph over the New York Empires. The winner was John Morgan in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Andy Humphrey took the loss. The Empires, now 83-77, have lost 5 straight.
Charlie Zacharias came through for Boston when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike splitter to center field, staking his team to a 4-2 lead.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
