Brooklyn Beats New York, 6-3
Brooklyn Bluebirds starter Jorge Sandoval pitched a strong game against the New York Knickerbockers at Flatbush Park, leading the Bluebirds to victory, 6-3. With the win, the Bluebirds hiked their record to 85-76.

In the top of the ninth, Steve Wright stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Knickerbockers were trailing 6-3, but had the bases loaded. That's when Dave Norman made a terrific pitch and Wright grounded out. Gone was the dream of a New York comeback.
