Wranglers Fall Short, 4-3, at Houston
|
Dallas shortstop John Darnell was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Houston beat the Wranglers, 4-3. Warner Manning notched his 2nd save in 4 chances. The Drillers, now 106-55, have won 5 in a row.
Houston took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Jackie Frost hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Drillers.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
