Emeralds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Wranglers, 3-1
The Seattle Emeralds had to overcome a good performance from Dallas pitcher Steve Coomes to claim a 3-1 win at Puget Field. Coomes went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Seattle reliever Phil Moore picked up the win to move to 4-6. Ken Morrison suffered the loss. The Wranglers, at 83-78, have lost 5 straight games.

Seattle took a 3-1 lead on Al Link's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Link hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Dallas pitcher Ken Morrison visibly frustrated.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
