Burros Take Tight Tilt, 2-1
The Denver Burros claimed a close win over the Los Angeles Blockbusters, due in large part to George Jakubowski. The Denver right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. The National Baseball League Western Division-leading Burros are 101-61.

Denver left fielder David Smith contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 111st hit of the season and put the Burros ahead, 2-0.

"Credit where credit is due," said Smith, "this was a team win."
