Jeff Ferguson was locked in. The left-hander led the San Diego Captains to a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Blockbusters at San Diego Sporting Complex. Ferguson yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-10. Earning his 18th save for San Diego was Brian Meade.

In the bottom of the sixth, Jorge Escobeda delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the San Diego shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Captains in front, 4-3.

After the game, San Diego manager Joe Mack applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

San Diego goes to 80-82, Los Angeles to 72-90.
