Packers Mow Down Eagles, 12-4
Cincinnati center fielder Ron Brown helped his team beat the Washington Eagles, 12-4. Brown, the 9th overall pick in the 1967 draft, went 2 for 4 for the Packers. Cincinnati pitcher Joe Clabaugh earned the win, hiking his record to 18-12. Alex Fonseca suffered the loss. The current losing streak for Washington has reached 4 games.

The Packers got a big boost from catcher Darrell Davis who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Eagles hurler Alex Fonseca. It was his 18th walk of the season and put Cincinnati on top, 3-2.

Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
