Morris Leads Hawks to Win
The 17-9 Chicago win over Houston was due in large part to Mark Morris. The Hawks right fielder went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Chicago reliever Jeff McNeil picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Terry Holland took the loss. The last-place Hawks now have a win-loss record of 60-102.

Morris contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Chicago in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Morris took a curveball from Terry Holland and stroked the double to right. His 21st double of the season allowed the Hawks to leap in front, 3-1.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Morris.
