Northmen Win with Late Rally
Behind the hitting of Melvin Perez, the Twin Cities Northmen stopped the Chicago Hawks, 8-7. Perez went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI for the Northmen. Paul Whitaker, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Chicago, now 4-13, continues its tough start.

Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Carl Jacobs to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Northmen on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was terrific getting this win," Perez said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
