Bob Briggs pitched well, but his team, the Pittsburgh Industrials, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Washington Eagles at Monument Field. The winner was Washington reliever Morris Rice, now 1-0. The loser was Bob Briggs. Pittsburgh is 7-10 after the defeat.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Eagles had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when right fielder Javy Ybarra hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Bob Briggs and made the score 2-1, Eagles. Ybarra was 1-2.

"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Ybarra.
