Burros Get Hard-Earned Win
The Denver Burros picked up a win at Gates Crescent Park, downing the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 5-4. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Bruce Cardenas, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Blockbusters drop to 9-9 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1974 season.

Jim Bitting was the walk-off hero for Denver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Burros center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It feels good to get this one," Bitting told the Denver Times.
