In a tight tilt between the Seattle Emeralds and the Los Angeles Pobladores, Pat Burkholder was the deciding factor. The Seattle right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Seattle goes to 2-0 with the win.

Seattle got a clutch hit from Dennis England. The second baseman launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Burkholder said in his postgame press conference.
