Seagulls Raise Rally Flag, Beat Seattle, 4-1
|
San Francisco and Seattle duked it out and the Seagulls came out victorious.
San Francisco Seagulls starter Dennis Fulton hurled his team past the Seattle Emeralds, 4-1. The Seagulls, now 13-5, have been red hot.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Scott Wagner came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Seattle pitcher Jose Mojica, he hit a 2-1 sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 3-1.
"Dennis did a good job keeping the game under control," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
