Twin Cities right fielder Carl Jacobs was instrumental in helping the Northmen triumph, 11-7, over the Seattle Emeralds. Jacobs went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Seattle is 8-9 after the loss.

Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Richie Brown to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Northmen on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Jacobs, cracking a smile.
