Bluebirds Triumphant, 3-2, at Allegheny Field
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Brooklyn-Pittsburgh ballgame.
In a low-scoring contest between the Brooklyn Bluebirds and the Pittsburgh Industrials, Dave Teckenbrock was the X factor. The Brooklyn right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The Bluebirds, with just their 6th win so far in 1972, have yet to catch fire.
John Seidler, who led the NBL in extra base hits with 64 in 1963, had a direct impact on the outcome. Seidler contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Brooklyn up, 3-0.
Seidler attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
