Tom Pena was a major factor in the 6-3 Brooklyn win over New York. The Bluebirds shortstop went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Dave Gaultney earned the win, while 11-year veteran Jack Forbes took the loss for New York. Mike Gregory got the save, the 1st for him this season.

With Brooklyn leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Pena batted against New York pitcher Jack Forbes. Pena hit a splitter to left for a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season put the Bluebirds on top, 4-1.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Pena said.

With the win, Brooklyn is 10-9.
