Los Angeles Gets 5-3 Win
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Puget Field.
The Los Angeles Pobladores defeated the Seattle Emeralds, 5-3, in American Baseball League action at Puget Field. Los Angeles pitcher Dan Turner had a standout performance. In 5.2 innings, Turner surrendered no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed no runs.
Paul McCarthy, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Los Angeles cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Pobladores manager Kurt Peterson.
The win lifts Los Angeles to a record of 7-12.
