Jose Sosa, who finished 3rd in the ABL in runs with 106 in 1973, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sosa contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put San Francisco up, 2-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Sosa told the San Francisco News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
