Habitants Need Extra Frames to Get Past Terriers
|
Montreal beat Boston in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Montreal Habitants earned a close win over the Boston Terriers, thanks in part to Rich Barron. The Montreal right-hander played a key role in the 11-inning, 3-1 victory. The win belonged to Eric Roe in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Sergio Cisneros took the loss for Boston.
Montreal needed the clutch hitting of John Conley to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Habitants on top, 3-1. For the game, Conley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Barron called getting the win a "good ending to a long game."
The Terriers, at 5-14, have stumbled out of the gate.
