Atlanta Topples New York, 5-1
|
Atlanta got a strong outing from George Palmer as the Generals defeated the New York Empires, 5-1, at Queens Field. The loss drops New York to 11-8.
Phil Bailey had a big 2-run home run for the Generals in the top of the second inning. With Atlanta leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from Andy Humphrey, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in wins with 3, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Generals on top, 3-0.
"I had everything working," said Palmer.
