4-2 Win by Empires Continues Hot Start
|
The New York Empires picked up a win at Queens Field, defeating the Boston Terriers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jack Neenan was an essential part of his team's success. Jack Pratt earned the save for New York, his 4th of the year. Early on, the Empires, at 14-5, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
The Empires got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Tom Glenn. For the game, Glenn went 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave New York a 4-2 lead.
After the game, New York manager Dan Whiting applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
